QSL Cards.

Here are the current QSL cards I have recieved thus far.

WWCR - World Wide Christian Radio - Beware of FALSE DOCTRINE!

Radio Canada International - Mapleleaf Mailbag.

Voice of Russia - This is my best one so far.

International Voice of Family Radio - Sent me 5 bumper stickers. (Again BEWARE OF FALSE DOCTRINE!)

Most of these stations sent me the most current Schdules of when they broadcast. Just last night I picked up Radio Prague out of the Czech Republic. So far I have picked up 1 new station a week since I started listening.

Review of the Grundig YB 300PE

All I have to say is WOW!!! I am so impressed with this little radio and how sensitive this one is and how well it is to work with. I love the ability to add an external antenna. This thing brings signals in crystal clear! I can sit in front of the TV and listen to it with little or no feedback from the TV. I spent 35.00 on this through EBAY brand new in the box. I comes with batteries, head phones, and external antenna and its own powersupply. I highly recommend this to the beginner SWL. It has a switch lock to lock out the front panel and 6 programmible channels per band with a total of 24 programable channels. It can scan through stations as well as directly plug in the frequency. This little Phase Locked Loop is a must have! For the cost it was well worth it. I will not go back to my little Grundig G1000A.

A few tips on this product. There is a pushbutton on off switch on the front that could accidentally be pushed if it is put in a back or something so make sure you kick on the key lock when you turn this thing off. This little rig has a DX/Local switch to drop the signal input to the front end of the reciever to keep from over driving it. If you want to really get the full effect of this rig use the headphones but be advised make sure the volume is turned down before you plug them in or turn it on. I got blasted by static today and it about blew me out of the chair. With the headphones it allows you to hear the station so much better!

Happy SWLing!!!

New Shortwave Almost here!

Looking forward to the new shortwave that I am waiting for. It should be here today!

I tweaked on my longwire antenna yesterday evening. and took it off the gutter that I had it mounted on directly. Instead I put a wooden bauln on the wire and then mouted the bauln to the gutter. What an improvement in the signal! I will post a picture on her soon. Received an email from China Radio International and they sent me a link to their schedule in english.

Shortwave

I decieded to get back in to the hobby of listening to my shortwave radio. It is intresting to note how the whole shortwave broadcasters have changed since I have listened many moons ago. Radio Moscow is now Voice of Russia and various others out there that I have seen. It is also intresting how there are much more Christian Broadcasters on than before as well. But you must be careful listening to those stations as some of them are way way way out to lunch and are considered false teachings and prophets.

The Radio I have been using is a Grundig G1000A and uses 2 AA batteries. It is very stable and sensitive. I have a random length longwire antenna that is about 30 feet or so. I addition I have ordered the Grundig YB300 which covers the frequencies that are not covered by my G1000A and plus it is completely digital and PLL and has an external jack.

I am also a Ham and spend my time on VHF with the local Raytown Repeater.

As the days go on I will drop some of the frequencies I have picked up for the day on here to share.
